Albion Online PvE Money Making: The Combat Income Loops (2026)
July 14, 2026
Combat is its own economy
Gathering and trading are the quiet half of Albion's economy; combat is the loud half. Albion Online PvE money making covers every way you turn fights — against mobs, against players, or both — into silver and loot. The catch is that combat income and market income obey different rules: production numbers are evergreen, but combat loot, fame rates and infamy values shift patch to patch. So this hub keeps the money loops themselves front and center and stays qualitative on the balance figures that move.
This is the pillar page for that whole cluster. Below is every major combat loop, what it risks, and what it pays — then a short pointer to the deep guide for each.
The combat income loops at a glance
Each loop trades risk for reward differently. Some are pure PvE with a PvP threat bolted on; some are arranged fights where the loot is the whole point.
| Activity | Zone / mode | Risk | Reward type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo & group dungeons | Open-world (any zone) | Zone-dependent | Fame + mob loot |
| 2v2 / 5v5 Hellgates | Instanced, cross-zone | Full-loot (lethal mode) | Demon loot + enemy gear |
| Corrupted dungeons | Instanced solo PvP | Full-loot if invaded | Infamy shop + loot |
| Abyssal Depths | Instanced 2–3 player | Inventory-only loss (gear safe) | Chest loot + kills |
| The Mists | Solo/duo roaming layer | Full-loot | Wisps, gathering, kills |
| Faction warfare | Open-world flagged | Full-loot in the field | Faction points + silver |
| ZvZ / large-scale | Black zone, guild scale | Full-loot | Split loot + objectives |
The pattern is the same one that runs through all of Albion: the safest loops pay the least, and the biggest paydays sit behind full-loot risk. What changes between loops is *how* you die and *what* you drop.
Dungeons and fame per hour
Open-world dungeons are the entry point — you clear mobs for fame and loot at whatever risk level your zone carries. The skill is not clearing them but clearing them *fast*, because your real return is measured per hour, not per run. Learn to measure and improve that rate in the fame per hour guide, and see where dungeon income ranks against everything else in our broader making silver in Albion hub.
Hellgates
Hellgates are instanced arenas where two teams farm demon mobs in the same space and can choose to fight each other for the pile. The loot loop runs on demon drops (silver, runes, artifacts, demon souls, Black Market loot) and the gear you take off the other team, and the whole thing scales with how much you are willing to invest and lose. The full mechanics — 2v2 versus 5v5, the loot loop, and when to engage versus avoid — are in the hellgates guide.
Corrupted dungeons and the Depths
Corrupted dungeons are solo PvP: you run a dungeon that another player can invade, and the tension between clearing fast and defending yourself is the entire game. The June 2025 Abyssal Depths update added a separate 2–3 player dungeon (the Depths, where only your gathered inventory is at risk, not your equipped gear) and folded both into the new Antiquarian's Den hub. Because these lean on infamy and invader mechanics that shift with balance patches, treat the numbers as dated — the full breakdown is in the corrupted dungeons guide.
The Mists
The Mists are Albion's solo and duo roaming layer, reworked in the Radiant Wilds update. You roam a shifting space for wisps, gatherable resources and player encounters, exiting wherever the map drops you. Navigation changed in the rework, so relearn the flow before you commit gear — details in the the Mists guide.
Faction warfare and ZvZ
Faction warfare lets you flag for a city, earn faction points and silver from PvP objectives, and spend those points on gear you cannot buy otherwise — covered in the faction warfare guide. At the largest scale, guild-versus-guild fights (ZvZ) generate loot that has to be divided fairly across dozens of players; do that cleanly with the loot splitting guide.
Before you take any of these into red or black zones, make sure you understand the rules that decide when you can be attacked — start with zones and flagging.
Wrap-up
Every combat loop in Albion is the same trade in a different costume: accept more risk, keep more reward. Start in dungeons to build fame and a buffer, step into hellgates and corrupted when you can afford to lose a set, and use faction warfare or ZvZ once you want organized play. Pick a loop from the table, follow its guide, and log what you actually keep with our loot tracker so you know which loop pays *you* best.
